    Google is now jumping on the band wagon and releasing their very first smartphone, the Nexus One. Journalists from around the country will be embarking to Google headquarters on Tuesday, December 5 for a press briefing regarding their Android mobile phone operating system.

    Rumor has it that at this time, Google will reveal the Nexus One, believed to named thus due to the Nexus androids in the hit science fiction movie “Blade Runner”.

    The Android system used by Google is already used by different phones such as Motorola and Samsung, however; the Nexus One will be the first time that Google has complete control over a device.

    Of course, Google is being hush hush about their smartphone; you can find gossip on the internet concerning the various new smartphones and their capabilities of being tiny computers. Even a few photos and specs have been leaked.

    Rumor specs include the screen is a bit larger than the iPhone, the ability to add a memory card, access the web, use Google’s free GPS navigation software, and play video games. A description floating around about the Nexus One states, that it is more like “a giant iPod giant than a keyboardless Mac”.
